Max Jacobson’s Review:
I didn’t want to like this cuz I heard it was a cheesy rom-com but it actually was really good in my opinion. Some of the acting was a bit cheesy but it didn’t take away from the story, which was also cheesy but the actors had great chemistry, and was an overall great, feel-good movie.

Celeste Cheah’s Review:
This was the first movie since the 90s to have a fully Asian cast, so it was something really monumental in the industry and meaningful for me especially since it was set in Southeast Asia. I loved the overall trope of the story and the scenes were all full of life so it was very enjoyable to watch. Also, the cast was so talented so it’s definitely a movie everyone should watch at least once.

Pedro Moreira’s Review:
When released, Crazy Rich Asians was a box-office success with its all Asian cast and contextualized plot. Seeing for the first time, it is easy to understand the success of this movie: The characters are charming, the production design is fabulous and extravagant, the story is extremely enjoyable, and most people will definitely have a good time watching it. However, it definitely has its flaws. While watching it, even though I saw talent behind the camera, with the amazing costumes and makeup, the pace of this movie is very arguable, filled with redundant pieces of dialogue and cinematography. Additionally, the script does not diversify so much from most rom-com, which may be a disappointment to some viewers. Overall, I cannot say I disliked this movie. I actually believe that movies like this one should be more supported in Hollywood, breaking stereotypes and cultural barriers inside the movie business. Saying that, I definitely recommend everyone to watch it, but keep in mind that there is much to be improved.

Kevin Michael’s Review:
Crazy Rich Asians is a great film for rom-com lovers. The film has the perfect dip between romance and comedy making it a very unique film compared to most others. The storyline was executed perfectly, it is remarkable. There are so many cultural complexes in this movie but the director has done a perfect job in making it comprehensive for everyone. But the best thing I liked about the movie is the shots and locations. This movie deserves a watch just for the choreography in it. It blends in well with the setting. There are some extremely marvelous scenes in this movie that keeps the audience mesmerized. The acting as most complained was a little cast down in some spaces. I felt like the cast kind of overdid their job but the chemistry between the actors did well. The mixture of these different characters was impressive. Overall this movie sometimes looked like it felt out of the rom-com genre a bit but it was never disappointing. Overall this movie is definitely recommended to watch and it is a great movie.
